thinking inside the box?
Yesterday, Michelle and I spent our first day of April vacation sorting through 100's of yards of fabric. As we would unwrap a bolt or open a new box, we would yell "supplies!" and in they would run in their little Spice Girl dress ups clothes, gathering the items like little woodland animals. Off they would hurry, giggling their little heads off and conjuring up their own new designs between themselves. They spent the entire day creating handmade outfits and playing in the big boxes! Who needs big expensive toys, give them fabric scraps, cardboard and oodles of cute imagination! We love you cutie pies!!!

hat-astic
Madeleine was a little baldy as a baby and toddler so I was always on the lookout for unique and fancy hats for her sweet little head. She soon become known in the neighborhood as "the hat girl". She loved all the gasps of ohhh's and ahh's as she sported a new bonnet or floppy design. If I had only known about Goorin!! This fab vintage daisy design will definitely have her strutting into first grade in style!

kookie goes bananas for monkeybar buddies!
We are going bananas for monkeybar buddies! We pair these under our kookie skirts + dresses so that our girls can twirl and hang from the playground without any underwear shots!. There will be no more "I see Paris, I see France, I see Maddy and Kylie's underpants" with these fun undershorts! One of our favorite combos is the lavender shorts with our doubles anyone dress in ice dance floor (see above right). The only issue is that my Maddy loves them so much, she cannot stop showing them off. In the midst of our Easter dinner, she stands up on her chair pulls up her beautiful Easter skirt and shakes her cute little monkey butt for all and sundry to see. After everyone had stop laughing or choking on their turkey, her Uncle Mickey told her to stop taking after her mother!

going bonkers for kids bento box!
The kookie girls and our mini kookies, all love to go out for Japanese and we are smitten with this Japanese style lunchbox! What a great way to serve up healthy and fun lunches that don't require bread and boring old lunchmeat! A Bentō is a single sized portion or a home-packed meal that is common in Japan. The traditional bento box contains rice, chicken, meat or fish and usually a side dish of cooked or pickled vegetables. Japanese households take great time and care in packing their bento boxes to make them appealing. This funky lunchbox is available to buy at Cooking for Monkeys for $18.
For super tips and recipes, check out this fabulous site, Lunch in a Box for pre-school recipe ideas and how to pack the perfect bento box!
